My summer trips home always seem to carry a theme. This time, the theme perpetually pointed in the direction of LETTING GO. Letting go of my kitty for a season, having to put one of Momma's dogs to sleep, witnessing my uncle battle through another health setback, coming across a newly-dead sparrow; letting go of expectations, past pain, fears of experiencing past pain in present situations, letting go of people. On the drive home though, I decided to let go in a pleasing way: Not only to let go of my routine and travel the scenic route home, but to ...
A favorite tradition with Momma: homemade blueberry muffins and coffee. #blueberry#muffins

Momma found this Acrosonic piano in the Thrifty Nickel for around $300 in the late 80s. In high school, I'd play for hours whenever I had the house to myself. Otherwise, it was "Shut that thing up!" the minute I'd touch the keys. And now that I have the house to myself this afternoon, I find the keys are almost too sticky to play. But play anyway I shall. #wilddesertwoman#home anyway

The reason behind this visit home: mah Baby Girl! I finally was at a place to collect/rescue her and together we survived the 7-hour drive to deliver her to my dear friend and foster-mom-for-a-year, Cheryl. My kitty has her spunk, spirits and health back and hopefully an extra 9 lives for all this adventure. #wilddesertwoman#wilddesertkitteh
