Then there was #springbreak last year...the 🚞 train from Chicago to Whitefish plus a few days in Whitefish and Spokane. . . We had originally booked in coach but upgraded to a bedroom as a surprise. She was so nervous about sleeping near strangers in coach that she threw up in her bed at about 2:30a on the morning of our departure to Chicago. She begged us to cancel the trip. We had to sit her down to spill the beans as well as do laundry before our scheduled wake up time! . . #travelfamily ...
I’m incredibly sad that the Arizona Memorial likely won’t be open when we visit. I’m still looking forward to her just getting to see the memorial and getting her Junior Ranger badge. . . Not getting to visit isn’t going to ruin our trip by any means, but have you ever been on a trip and not getting to do something you had planned on doing? . . #travelfamily#familytravel
Eyeing the fact that there is actually water in the branch. We’ve been out many, many times before when it’s been dry. . . During warmer, dry (which hasn’t been much lately) weather we often come out to have a picnic and walk the trails. . . Do you have a favorite place to just get outside? . . #travelfamily#familytravel
Yesterday we visited one of K’s favorite local places with some friends who were first time visitors. She loved giving them a guided tour. 😂 . . It still blows my mind that the first #revolutionarywar battle in the south happened here. . . #travelfamily
Holy smokes. How has this been a week ago already!?? 🤷🏼♀️ . . She is still excitedly talking about her visit. Which doesn’t really surprise me since she has two deep history loves - the #titanic and the #revolutionarywar. . . We tried to visit a Rev War museum yesterday but it wasn’t open. 😩 On to a site today with friends to get her fix! . .
K was loving all the ice she spotted in the park. She’s used to seeing ice during our travels to #alaska and #alberta not . . I love how excited she gets exploring the great outdoors! She would choose outdoors over tablets and video games all day long. . .
#mortgagepayoff update . . In 2019 we’ve paid 39% of the extra we paid the entire year in 2018!! By the schedule I’ve set 10 years and it will be GONE!! Now, of course, I hope it’s way before 10. We’ve made 1.56 extra complete payments YTD. 🎉 #debtfreecommunity
Maine, anyone? . . Let’s start off by saying it’s awesome that some go from Georgia all the way to Maine. I actually know a guy who has. There’s no way I could do it! . . We’ve been down part of this trail before but not this past weekend because ☔️☔️☔️ it’s rained so much here lately. K wasn’t about to be allowed on the squishy trail with her new shoes. . . Have you guys hiked any of the Appalachian Trail? . . #travelfamily#familytravel ...
#mondayblues . . All of y’all in #hawaii or are probably rejoicing that you aren’t waking up all groggy thanks to the time change. . . I would rather be out exploring than attempting to function in this fog. 🤷🏼♀️ I will mention the bright side - no rain ☔️ in the forecast today!! . .
We didn’t have to rush home yesterday so we came home through the park instead of the interstate. It was our first trip back since 2015. . . The weather didn’t allow us to be out and about much but we made the best of it. The trails were a squishy mess thanks to all the rain that we’ve had in the south lately. . . #travelfamily#familytravel
