“Polka dots can’t stay alone; like the communicative life of people, two or three polka dots become movement... Polka dots are a way to infinity.” #yayoikusama 🔴. . . . With All My Love For The Tulips, I Pray Forever, 2011 at Marciano Art Foundation, Photo by #charleswhite 🌹. . . .
The "Infinity Mirrored Room: Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity" (2009) is a tiny, mirror-lined room illuminated by golden flickering lights, which gives the illusion of an infinite horizon and, therefore, infinite existence. The artist, Yayoi Kusama, has described this experience as "self-obliteration," a suspension of the self, time, and space, one that encourages the individual "to consider the cycles of life and passage of time." . . . #yayoikusama#bellagio
For the love of colourful experimental art, infinity rooms and polka dot pumpkins. I’ve been to Yayoi Kusama’s exhibitions multiple times in London, Singapore and Jakarta, and I thoroughly enjoyed the immersive experiences every time. Since I’m going through my art book phase, I thought I’d read about one of the most prominent living contemporary artists in Japan and the world today. So excited 😍! #yayoikusama#infinitynet

The piece is one of Kusama’s first works to "explore the optical and psychological potential of the mirrored surface as a means of transcending the limits of the physical world and creating a participatory experience in which the viewer is cast as the subject of the work." . . . #yayoikusama#bellagio ...
