THE COOTUB MINAR, DELHI. "I have forgotten," ’tis a common phrase Said every hour, and said of every thing; Objects of sight and hearing pass away, As they had not impressed the eye nor ear: Faces we loved, the voices we thought sweet, Go from us utterly; the very heart Remembers not its beatings; hopes, and fears, In multitudes, leave not a trace behind. One half of our existence is a blank; A mighty empire hath forgetfulness! History is but a page in the great past, So few amid Time’s records are unsealed.— Here is a mighty tower: ere it was ...
Ending my posts on Ravello with this gorgeous sculpture of Ceres, the goddess of agriculture, harvests, fertility and motherly relationships. Ceres standing in all her glory in Villa Cimbrone created an incredibly serene atmosphere, reflective of this very beautiful cliff top town.
How hauntingly beautiful is this place? 💕 While walking around the small town of Ravello, we came across this statue of Paolino Vassalo, a Maltese composer standing proudly against the picturesque background. 🇮🇹 I tried to capture the beauty of that moment on my camera but nothing compares to the moment we saw the sunlight peek through the clouds and reflect off the mountains. 🌞 Brownie points for the rainbow 🌈 It felt as if we were meant to be there marvelling at Mother Nature! 🌿
Hampi was listed as No 2 in New York Times list of 52 must visit places in 2019. Trust me it's a different world altogether. I'd go here more often as it is not too far from Bangalore, but the heat stops me.. but this place is definitely on the list when it cools down a bit.. Don't worry be Hampi ! . . . #hampi#hampidiaries
Everywhere you look around, you see lush green hills, lined with lemon orchards and colourful houses. Ravello is one of my most favourite towns/villages on the Amalfi Coast. Yes, I loved it even more than the famous colourful Positano. This small town has a certain charm to it and is so different from the rest of the Amalfi Coast villages. Did you know that the town of Ravello is a UNESCO World Heritage Site? With scenic views like this, it’s not surprising at all! ⛰🇮🇹🍋
How gorgeous is this view? 😍 When we went to Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, we didn’t know what to expect. But, boy we are so glad that we did! 😊 Villa Cimbrone is a historic building on the Amalfi Coast and is known for its scenic Belvedere, the Terrace of Infinity. I am still in awe of how beautiful the views were even in the pouring rain! Can you imagine how beautiful and pristine it would look on a bright sunny day? ☀️
To infinity and beyond ♾ . . Glorious tranquil views of the Tyrrhenian Sea from the Terrace of Infinity at Villa Cimbrone. You can spend hours gazing at the most exhilarating infinite view. I went up there on a rainy day and despite all the heavy rain and dark clouds I was awestruck. I can’t imagine how gorgeous it looks during a bright sunny day with the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea and the azure Mediterranean sky.
Dude, you are facing the wrong way! 🙈 . . This breathtaking terrace with marble Roman bust statues has one of the most magnificent views imaginable. This terrace has a special name to it. Can you guess what it is? 🇮🇹
મારુ અમદાવાદ • Happy Birthday Ahmedabad - 609 years ago Sultan Ahmed Shah 1 became the ruler of The Gujarat Sultanate. He ruled over it as a king from 1411 to 1442 till he died. One day he was roaming around the river Sabarmati. He saw something interesting. He saw a rabbit chasing a dog. Ahmed Shah was intrigued by this and asked his advisor about how it is happening. The sage pointed out unique characteristics in the land which nurtured such rare qualities. It turned a timid rabbit to chase a ferocious dog. Ahmed Shah was very ...
The library of Celsus in Izmir (Ephesus) is the third largest library in the ancient world after both Alexandria and Pergamum. Destroyed by a fire and an earthquake in the 10th/11th century, the façade was re-erected between 1970-1978 . . . . #ephesus#worldwonder

This was the essence of Christmas in Lalibela: crowded with pilgrims dressed in white; drumming; singing; and, general beautiful chaos. This is the stuff of street photography dreams. When you shoot on a 28mm lens, as I do, you have to get in close. When it’s Christmas in Lalibela, it’s hard to avoid being in the thick of it. *** I’m posting photos from my adventures in Ethiopia this week. Stay tuned and check out my other recent Ethiopia posts. #lalibela#lalibelachurches . . . . . . ...
Thanjavur or Tanjore gets it's name from an asura (demon) named Thanjan. Upon being defeated by lord Vishnu, he asks for a wish that a town of great beauty come up at the spot he dies. His wish is granted & Tanjan's oor (place) Tanjavur was born. This is the Brihadeeswara temple in Tanjore built by Raja Raja Chola I. #templesofindia#tamilnadu
