One of my highlights so far has been being able to check this over 2000 year old aqueduct. Constructed in and around 112AD the exact date is not known. This another world UNESCO heritage site. One of the best preserved Roman aqueduct. #segoviaspain#aqueduct

Thanks to the “On This Day” algorithm- from April 14, 2017. In 2 years, so much has changed. Oh, life! . . 83, 43, 12 & 8. What a glorious April day hiking the trail at Poverty Point, a World UNESCO site right down the road. One of us had no idea where we were or what was going on, but big fun was had by all! #staycurious#worldunescoheritage
I love the sound of church bells tolling. 🔔 it invokes a strange emotion in me and it feels as if I’m in a movie based in a small European town. 🎥 Well, that’s exactly how I felt sitting by this massive Duomo in the town of Amalfi. ⛪️ Amalfi Cathedral is a medieval Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Apostle Saint Andrew whose relics are kept here. We climbed up and down the stairs and it was beautiful. Who knew it gets so peaceful inside this town after you are past the hustle and bustle of the ferry terminals ...
Zayyan and I walked around the local alleyways in Amalfi which gave us a bit of a perspective on how the locals live there. 🇮🇹It felt like we were navigating through a maze as we went from one street to another. We marvelled at the sight of fresh fruits in the grocery stores, particularly lemon 🍋 and the local homes with their ornate balconies. 🏡 It’s such a rewarding experience when you can immerse yourself in the new culture and explore the local way of life. 💁🏻♀️
As the namesake town of the Amalfi Coast, the seaside town of Amalfi has an idyllic mountain setting and a fascinating medieval heritage to discover. It is the major transportation hub within the Amalfi Coast, consequently making it one of the busiest towns. However, once you step away from the bus stands and the harbour, it feels like you have entered a new different world.
Can you guys guess the name of the mountain overlooking this busy Italian city? I will give you a hint - it’s a volcano! Volcano 🌋 Yes, it’s Mount Vesuvius, the still-active volcano that destroyed the nearby Roman town Pompeii. I took this aerial shot of Naples against the mighty Vesuvius from the plane. ✈️ 🙋🏻♀️
Laxmi is this name of the elephant in Virupaksha temple . Happily playing with coconut held in the trunk .It’s a trained elephant and blesses tourists wen offered money . I see no chains . #hampi#virupakshatemple
Chocolate hills were simply surreal. ❤️ Considered sometimes as the “Eight Wonder of the World”, were the result of thousands of years of weathering of marine limestone. Can you count all the 1,268 cone-shaped hills ? 😁🌴 • • • #philippines#travel
THE COOTUB MINAR, DELHI. "I have forgotten," ’tis a common phrase Said every hour, and said of every thing; Objects of sight and hearing pass away, As they had not impressed the eye nor ear: Faces we loved, the voices we thought sweet, Go from us utterly; the very heart Remembers not its beatings; hopes, and fears, In multitudes, leave not a trace behind. One half of our existence is a blank; A mighty empire hath forgetfulness! History is but a page in the great past, So few amid Time’s records are unsealed.— Here is a mighty tower: ere it was ...
Ending my posts on Ravello with this gorgeous sculpture of Ceres, the goddess of agriculture, harvests, fertility and motherly relationships. Ceres standing in all her glory in Villa Cimbrone created an incredibly serene atmosphere, reflective of this very beautiful cliff top town.
While exploring the narrow alleyways of Ravello, I couldn’t resist stopping by this shop and marvel at the gorgeous plates with their copper greens, turquoises and lemon yellow. Ceramic shops on the Amalfi Coast are a riot of colour. The glorious blues, turquoises and yellows of the sea and the sun are hand painted on vases, plates and tiles. Each shop is a little museum, displaying the unique handcrafts of a particular town. The local earth of the Amalfi Coast is rich in clay, limestone and volcanic substances, helping it with the ceramic production. These goods have been produced in ...
How hauntingly beautiful is this place? 💕 While walking around the small town of Ravello, we came across this statue of Paolino Vassalo, a Maltese composer standing proudly against the picturesque background. 🇮🇹 I tried to capture the beauty of that moment on my camera but nothing compares to the moment we saw the sunlight peek through the clouds and reflect off the mountains. 🌞 Brownie points for the rainbow 🌈 It felt as if we were meant to be there marvelling at Mother Nature! 🌿
Hampi was listed as No 2 in New York Times list of 52 must visit places in 2019. Trust me it's a different world altogether. I'd go here more often as it is not too far from Bangalore, but the heat stops me.. but this place is definitely on the list when it cools down a bit.. Don't worry be Hampi ! . . . #hampi#hampidiaries
Everywhere you look around, you see lush green hills, lined with lemon orchards and colourful houses. Ravello is one of my most favourite towns/villages on the Amalfi Coast. Yes, I loved it even more than the famous colourful Positano. This small town has a certain charm to it and is so different from the rest of the Amalfi Coast villages. Did you know that the town of Ravello is a UNESCO World Heritage Site? With scenic views like this, it’s not surprising at all! ⛰🇮🇹🍋
How gorgeous is this view? 😍 When we went to Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, we didn’t know what to expect. But, boy we are so glad that we did! 😊 Villa Cimbrone is a historic building on the Amalfi Coast and is known for its scenic Belvedere, the Terrace of Infinity. I am still in awe of how beautiful the views were even in the pouring rain! Can you imagine how beautiful and pristine it would look on a bright sunny day? ☀️
