Do you remember a similiar scene in the lion king? . Each year enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra, 2 million strong, make a grand circuit across the Serengeti Plains as they travel from Tanzania into Kenya's famed Masai Mara and back, following the new grass sprouts with the seasonal rains. . The circle of life from above.💀🍃 . Did you know that African Wild Dogs are Africa's most successful predators, with an 80% success rate. 👐 However it is for this reason that their numbers are dropping, as they are very unwelcome near farm land😟 . Do you find this tragically beautiful? . 📷 Photo credit: @naudewashere Location: @erindinnamibia | Namibia . #nomadafrica#africa

The Golden Monkeys of Rwanda are so beautiful and the bamboo forests that they inhabit at the base of the volcanos seem almost magical. Their brown, orange and gold hair seems to blend and at the same time stand out perfectly in the forest. #rwanda#goldenmonkey
Penguins in Africa?? 🐧 . I had never been to the Southern Hemisphere before my South Africa trip, so I completely forgot about the 180 they pull on seasons - when I arrived there in June, it was the middle of winter, and my shorts and T-shirts I’d packed were not working out. I wore my college sweatshirt every day for 2 weeks, because it was the only warm thing I’d brought. . Anyways, apparently there are penguins there too. I learned a lot on that trip. . . . #southafrica🇿🇦 #nomadafrica ...
Morning Mist 🌅 . In the mornings on the safari, we had to try our best to peer through the fog to spot animals sleeping in the brush. I kept falling asleep though, because I’m useless. . . . #wildernessnation#southafrica🇿🇦
Sunset Hikes 🌄 . Featuring my beat-up Adidas. These babies were my only travel companions during my 2 month solo trip - I wore them every single day during that time. At the end, you wouldn’t have believed me if I told you they were once white. . . . #southafrica🇿🇦 #nomadafrica
Sunrise on the Safari ☀️ . This was one of the coldest mornings of my life. At 6am sharp, we all climbed into a string of jeeps, with only wool blankets, shared across a row of 3 passengers, to protect us from the 40 degree wind. . But we had to wake up early to get a head start on spotting all of the big 7 in one day: lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, and hyena. And rightfully so: on our way into the park, amongst the morning mist, we spotted two cheetahs right next to the side of ...
Cape of Good Hope ❤️ . . There’s a common misconception that the Cape of Good Hope is the southernmost point in Africa, based on the misbelief that it was the dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. However, the real title goes to Cape Agulhas, about 150 miles to the southeast. 🙃 . . . #capetownsouthafrica#nomadafrica

I can’t believe this was almost 2 years ago! . . After graduation, I had saved up enough money to go on a giant tour of places that have always been on my bucket list, which included spending 2 weeks in Cape Town. After spontaneously deciding to go on a hike, I climbed Lion’s Head (completely underestimating the difficulty and forgetting to bring water along the way). At the top, I got this awesome photo of Table Mountain, right as the sun was setting ☀️ . . Also fun, I met a fellow Cornell alumni at the peak! Fun times ...
Do you think the view is worth the climb? . Sossusvlei is surely Namibias most iconic landscape. It is a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes, located in the southern part of the Namib desert. Have you been here with @nomadadventuretours ? . Photo credit: @jannahjanoe #nomadafrica#africa

Have you ever had the privilege of seeing one of these curvy creatures up close with @NomadAdventureTours ? . . If you look carefully at this photo you will realise that these rhinos have been dehorned, it is seen as a temporary measure to prevent the killing of a rhino for its horn. It is an on going process however as the horn does regrow. . . Finish this sentence 'rhino conservation is important because...' . . Photo credit: @human.kind.photography . . #nomadafrica#africa

The power of nature is glorious! . The Sesriem canyon in Namibia was carved out by the Tsauchab river, it is about 0.6 miles long and up to 100 deep. At some places the canyon is only 6.5 feet wide it also has a portion that permanently contains water, which many animals use. . Yes... after a 4 hour hike up Volcano National Park to see the endangered Golden Monkeys, falling on my butt twice and sweating like a sinner in church, I was all smiles! Definitely recommend a trip to this beautiful nation! #travel#travelrwanda @flyrwandair @nomadafricamagazine @serenahotels
Hello Africa. As we traveled through South Africa, we passed this small town in the middle of nowhere. We visited the school building, where children learn their language and other basic skills. #roadtrip#nomadafrica
