Wolfkamp & Stone Old Masters Collection Tanya Wolfkamp’s gorgeous new ‘Old Masters Decoupage’ series was inspired by her love of New Zealand plants many of which she grows in her garden on Waiheke Island. Her admiration of the richly detailed flower paintings from the Dutch Golden Age combined with her skill in digital decoupage has resulted in a series of beautiful botanical illustrations that have been applied to a range of gifts. Impress with these beautiful mirrors @florenceandco_nz as a gift or just indulge yourself 💕 @livewiresnz @tanyawolfkamp #beauty#mirrors
My best friend and I just opened a new shop! We make embroidery art of native and local plants in the PNW and the Appalachian Mountains. This is our first listing, a Foxglove embroidery hoop wall hanging. Check out Floral Fibers on Etsy! Link in bio. - - - - - #floralfibers#embroideryart
Walking with a Garden Designer. courtesy of garden design fest and Cameron @groundedgardens for this sneak peak into two lovely suburban spaces (Melbourne). More to come from the garden design fest..... #landscapedesign#victoria
Kiwi bird #2 for a dear customer. Making this one more fuller in the body with plenty of fern to give it that fluffy look. Making them real but with a dash of uniqueness cause that is how I roll. ✌ #kiwibird
Repost from @voiceoftheseatv using @RepostRegramApp - Checking the fencing and its effect on native forest plants. Keep out the ungulates and you get native Koa, Ohia, Hibiscus, ferns, and mosses... oh and the complex assemblage captures water for our aquifers way better than invasive forests (because less hard packed mud and complex understory plants that trap water slowly over time). Mahalo nui to all the people working and volunteering time to sustain and nourish these critical parts of our watershed! . #voiceoftheseatv#seagrant ...
One day soon we will have a thriving population of maiapilo on the atoll if I have anthing to say about it. This species is the Hawaiian caper (Capparis sandwichiana). These night blooming flowers were once abundant in the northwestern islands but after guano mining, rabbit ranching, and military presence this species has been extirpated from most of its range including Kū'aihelani, but through collaborative efforts within the Hawaii refuge system this lady of the night will be returned to pō, where she can fill the night with her glow and fragrance. #maiapilo#capparis ...

Had such a great time in class today with guest lecturer and friend, @plantsgoglobal #climateactionp#plantsgoglobal Thanks so much! They enjoyed it and came back to pick up their poppy-babies before break.
We’re back at #farfieldnaturepreserve with the help of #nsicecfdn making room for good stuff to grow. Our volunteers spent their Sunday seeding 1.25 acres with 30 species of native plants... take that, Buckthorn.
In our explorations yesterday afternoon we discovered Fairhill Native Plants and Botanical Gardens in Ninderry about a half hour drive from Noosa Heads. A wonderful Australian native plant nursery. This appears to be their resident lizard. Lost his tail but living happily there. #fairhillnativeplants#nativeplants
Had a lot of fun making this dried flower bouquet and other dried florals for Taryn and Tim’s wedding. The foliage and white hydrangeas are fresh, and that’s about it! I love using dried flowers for weddings - it allows you to collect material year-round (from local farmers and the wilds) and keep a stock in hand so you have to order in less. Its a great option for dry places! If I keep doin this stuff, I want to get 100% to local sourcing but need some practice in planning. I loooove designing flowers, thinking about getting serious about ...
Fothergilla gardenii ‘Suzanne’ (Dwarf Witchalder). With the freakish snowstorm yesterday washed away by rain and melted, the garden returned to pseudo-autumn again today. Overall it has been a bad year for fall color here and even the usually vibrant Fothergilla is putting on a mediocre show. I have 3 of these great, compact native shrubs planted in full sun. They grow slowly and don’t require any care. I’ve never had any deer or rabbits munching on them either. Native to the Southeastern US. #fothergillagardeniisuzanne#garden
It is a rare moment that I cast any affection towards a Symphoricarpos albus (Snowberry) plant. Vigorous, hard to dig out, take over the whole place if you let us in kind of plant that it is... but this cluster of squishy fresh berries was a visual treat.
Oatley Flora and Fauna society conducted a tree planting session today in Moore Reserve, Oatley. I sadly missed the planting of the trees this time around, but I was there in time to give the new plants a good drink, AND I am looking forward to seeing the plants establish themselves. Ignore my green prickly pads. And, those invisible glochids, so super ouchy in gardeners' skin! Opuntia is a dandy of a flower, crystal clear, purest yellow color. Savor my stunning floral beauty. Yet, poof! No-one remembers me after my petals fade. Inconceivably, some like me more as a culinary food, as "tuna", "cactus candy", "nopales". Whoa, in protest, I'm calling for a 1960's-style #flower Power public rally ! #opuntia
A little Sunshine to add to the day🌼 @lltara Harvested a little~Pectis Papposa a member of the Sunflower Family~Asteraceae family~also known as "Chinchweed" or in Spanish "Manzanilla Del Coyote"~ which can be made into tea that aids in digestion and I just learned it can also help with Colic and burping🌼This plant smells wonderful and has some amazing Medicinal qualities🙌🏻It's known to sedate and lessen spasms of gastro tissues. When consumed with a bitter herb it enhances gastric stimulation by bringing more blood to the stomach walls. A little fun info from Herbalist Laura Lago that was shared with me ...

Look, a #faery! Actually native wild honeysuckle, and a wild cherokee rose, which is actually native to China, but grows wild here. Many of my favorite English and East Coast Instas are posting beautiful first snow pictures...it's true I'm a bit envious... My first snow is a little bouquet of late autumn white flowers. #nativeplants

We already thought that we wouldn‘t find flowering wild plants till March... But looking thoroughly when walking at a railway embankment let us see many different flowers. This is a Cranesbill, presumably Hedge-Row Crane's-Bill (Geranium pyrenaicum). —— #cranesbill#hegerowcranesbill ...
There still are flowering „weeds“: prickly sow-thistle (Sonchus asper) at a railway embankment in Bavaria. —— Es gibt auch im November noch blühendes „Unkraut“: Dornige Gänsedistel (Sonchus asper) an einem Bahndamm in Regensburg. —— #edibleplant#pricklysowthistle
There still are flowering „weeds“: greater burnet-saxifrage (Pimpinella major) at a railway embankment in Bavaria. —— Es gibt auch im November noch blühendes „Unkraut“: Bibernelle, wahrscheinlich Große Bibernelle (Pimpinella major) an einem Bahndamm in Regensburg. —— #greaterburnetsaxifrage#burnetsaxifrage
We got the first snow of the season. Yes. Quite a lot. But all Sarracenia are still standing strong 💪 Have a safe and great weekend, everyone. And we will see some of you on Monday, 11/19, for MCNARGS’ meeting, ‘Pecha Kucha (chit chat in Japanese)’. Meaning of snow covering is going to be covered by Michael and other interesting stories from our members! #mcnargs#nargs
We are more and more intrigued by the layering of grass on grass. Here schizachyrium stands proudly in a field of panicum. The contrast in color, texture, and form is subtle yet compelling. . . . #panicum#boulder
One a common species, the Red Headed Woodpecker has suffered population decline due to road strikes, competition with invasive bird species for habitats, and harvesting to provide feathers for hats. • • • #restorenativeplants#plantnatives
Fall is a great time to get new plants in the ground here in the PNW, giving them a solid start on establishing resilient root systems. Today our Native Plant Nursery Assistant Manager, Talinna, transplanted some cute baby Gillis capitata - also known as globe gilia or blue thimble flower. They’ll make an excellent addition to our pollinator strip, sporting ball-shaped blue flowers come summertime. >>>Swipe to see an example of how they’ll look in bloom!
