The Goubert market at Pondicherry was built just a stone throw off the "white town". Not too far to be an inconvenience and not too close to get the noise and the smell of the fish and meat market. Still the market is one of the most lively and colourful in South India. Especially the flower section is a oasis on it's own. If in Pondicherry the best stays are the cghearth Palais de Mahe or the homestay like Maison Perumal. #meandcghearth#meditation ...
Offering fresh, lively and wholesome food has always been of great importance to us and our fireless kitchen is a testimony to this belief. We strive to develop a culinary legacy that respects and preserves the inherent value of food from the earth, where each morsel exudes love and gratitude towards mother earth.⠀ #worldearthday2019#eatingbetter
Our feet contain approximately 200,000 nerve endings. Therefore, they are sensitive to the surfaces that they walk on. When we walk on grass, these nerve endings get stimulated, restoring the body to a more balanced state. Nature holds within it healing secrets that are waiting to be discovered. To see the effects of reflexology for yourself, walk barefoot every morning for a few minutes. ⠀ #worldearthday2019#meandcghearth
SwaSwara is a tribute to Mother Earth. Its landscapes seamlessly blend with the natural terrain, capturing the spirit of the elements at every turn. The Konkan villas here are crafted in colours of the earth, using locally available material such as laterite and coconut thatches. On World Earth Day, we celebrate the joys of coexisting with the land that gives us life. #worldearthday2019#meandcghearth
“Protect our Species” is the clarion call of World Earth Day 2019, because in nature nothing exists alone. Sustainable and Responsible Tourism isn't just our belief, it's our business model. All our experiences are created around the local ecosystem, like the butterfly garden at Marari Beach Resort, the Vechoor cows at Coconut Lagoon, the wild guinea fowls at Spice Village, or the Giant Malabar Squirrels that live at Wayanad Wild. We pioneered this concept in India and continue to lead from the front. #worldearthday#meandcghearth
An interesting discussion between Anna @openeyesproject, Soity@responsibletourismsummit, Rupeshkumar @keralatourism and BeatGermann @cghearth on mainstreaming sustainability in tourism strategies at Très 2019. #keralatourism🌴 #responsibletourismindia
Spending time at one of our butterfly gardens invariably turns into a blissful state of meditation. Love the peace these delicate, small and fragile winged beauties instill on my soul. Truly a soulful experience in the lap of nature. #meandcghearth#meditation
Roof thatch at Spice Village is one of the earliest community based initiative in Kerala. As early as 1991 decided the owners of cghearth to change the concept of conventional hotel construction to a more inclusive environment and community development project. To cover the buildings a grass thatch method was adopted to provide jobs to the local communities. Till today the project is of a threefold nature. A) providing local jobs. B) supporting the Tiger reserve by sourcing grass and enabling fire corridors. C) no air conditioning was needed because of the insulation qualities of the roof. #meandcghearth ...
The Saddhu. Its not often one meets one of these ascetic pilgrims in cities nowadays. They are not the fakes that linger around tourist spots posing for pictures and asking money. This beautiful clean holy man with his bowl did not even ask for alms. People stepped out of stores to offer it. Such was the power of his gentle eyes. Could not find a better picture to celebrate Easter, the day of resurrection from our worldly attachments. May we all take a step towards a more collective, loving and respectful approach to all living beings and mother ...

It feels good when we hear from our guests about how much they enjoyed the old world charm, rooms, services, food and warm hospitality we have on offer. But it feels even more wonderful when our guests feel the same awe and fascination for the lesser known Tamil part of Pondicherry as they do for its French parts. Here’s what Himanshu Mishra has to say about his stay with us.⠀ ⠀ “Absolutely 5 star in its service and attitude. Loved the room, the decor, the food, the hospitality. Staff did everything to ensure that we had the most comfortable of ...

After my trip to South India, breakfast got me thinking of Masala Dosa now. Dosa-r so good! 😋 - The South India's most popular breakfast has dosa stuffed with spiced potatoes. It's typically serves with sides of chutney and sambar as well for dipping. All the breakfast I've had in restaurants serve this! And usually, instead of having buffet food, I get this instead because they make this fresh for you. 👌 - 🇮🇳 Travel XS South India Tour (@the.experiential.traveller) - 🍽️ Masala Dosa - 🏙️ Maison Perumal @cghearth - 📍 44, 58, Perumal Koil St, Heritage Town, Puducherry, 605001, ...
