Heron, black and white. An old pic of some years ago, I thought to cut it a little bit to give a kind of sense. Without my photographic course some stuffs I wouldn’t have imagined. I’m still not an expert, but learning is always a new experience...is like being a child again ☺️ - #blackandwhite#blackandwhitephotography

Good morning lovely folk, looks like another fine day on the way, the #blackcap and #greenfinches are singing and the is flapping about in the oak with his eye on a nearby garden goldfish pond. We are off to the lovely @carolinenaldrett yes it was on our plans too! Can never resist a walk round the old and or an art shop or gallery or two. Have a lovely day all.
A couple of Sandhill Cranes in a local field. I was intrigued by their reddish-brown plumage. Turns out this is because sandhill cranes preen themselves by rubbing mud on their feathers and mud from iron-rich environments is often red. #pauseandreflect#gratitude @zonephotographer @instagram @ladnerisawesome @pick_of_the_day @deltaisawesome @discoverladner
Week 16: Nature Extra credit: Wildlife You can see in the reflection this photo is taken in my village. But still I feel it is nature going on here. The heron is searching for material for his nest in a colony in a graveyard nearby. On advice of my 52cc-group I darkened the background a little, to make the heron stand out a bit more. #52frames#week16
Grey Heron - A bird’s eye view ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This Grey Heron was perched in a tree, above me when I photographed it, the unusual angle helps to explain the strange appearance of its eyes. A heron’s eyes are set wide apart and can be directed forwards to provide binocular vision, enabling them to judge distance. They can also be directed downwards so that they can scan an area both ahead of, and below the bill whilst keeping their head fixed and motionless. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #greyheron#greyherons ...
Grey Heron with wild flowers ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Grey Heron is a tall, often solitary bird, most easily recognised when stood stock-still in the shallow waters of lakes, rivers and ponds, patiently hunting fish. It has long thin legs, a grey back and a black eyestripe that continues as long feathers drooping down its long white neck. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #greyheron#greyherons
