Well it’s busy days getting ready for @handmadehereyyc , galleries, Wildflower Salon and Alberta Ballet! Cheers to you all and thank you for supporting all artists ❤️ #canadianceramics#albertacraftcouncil
Today.. a pet portrait. This one was painted on embossed paper that was collaged onto canvas. I will do commissions of your pet. You can come and talk to me about this at @handmadehereyyc this weekend at Triwood Community Hall. . . . #handmadeyyc#handmadehereyyc
Porcelain slip casting with coloured slip cast. I know it’s not earth shattering lots of folks do this but it’s my first time!! Oh the possibilities!! Now I should get back to decorating work and not experimenting right now 😆 #canadianceramics#albertacraftcouncil
ORNAMENTS! The best thing about these is that you can hang them on your tree or mantle for the holidays AND then in the summer use a suction cup and fishing line to stick on your windows to stop birds from injuring themselves by flying into them! Both options will be available at #handmadehereyyc and they are easy to switch over from one use to another! @handmadehereyyc #twigandantler
A nod to my German roots with Borscht today. I was inspired by the veggies in my #yycgrowers harvest box; beets, garlic, potato, & carrots. The dollop of sour cream always makes it better. Hey, that’s an older bowl made by Mindy Andrews. She’ll be at Handmade Here on Nov 17 and 18 th at Triwood Community Hall with newer work. I’ll have my painting there too. I don’t have any soup paintings, but do have some veggie paintings and ones of chickens too! . . . #yycliving ...

The light isn’t t ideal but here is a progress pic of the Warrior- the pine cone is a representation of the pineal gland and is the source of intuitive energy and the 6th sense- knowing what cannot be known #twigandantler @handmadehereyyc #peacefulwarrior

Weaving the containers for the Crystal Points. The long ends of the simulated sinew will travel through the eye sockets - some pattern and/or decoration will be added here after they Points are secured to the skull #yycartist#instasculpture @handmadehereyyc
This Superhero is next up! This was found at the side of a river on a rafting trip. I believe it’s a Cow Skull. It was in need if some TLC as it was half buried in the bank. Some time ago, it told me it wanted 2 giant crystal points - as raw as possible- coming from its eye sockets. This one is a Warrior #twigandantler#yycartist @handmadehereyyc
Horse is nearing completion. Rabbit fur pompom, hand painted botanicals, rabbit fur lighting bolt with 22k gold beaded border, multi crystal crown and Silver leaf grill #twigandantler#yycartist You can see this piece @handmadehereyyc Nov 17&18 @triwood_nw 2244 Chicoutimi Dr NW

#repost @kizmit_gift_gallery with @get_repost ・・・ After ‘pineing’ for @mindyaandrews fine porcelaine pieces for what seems like an eternity...I am now to be able to share her beautifully detailed table ware with Kizmit customers... a wish come true! Bottoms up 😉 #ceramicartist
So people often ask me why my Skull pieces are so “pricey” ( I don’t think they are at all compared to what’s out there) and THIS IS WHY. Not only do I pay for the skulls, clean them, paint/prime them I also HANDMAKE all the details - here is the rabbit fur lightning bolt for Horse - I have to hand stitch the fur to the leather and then hand bead the borders. This takes HOURS. I love it but if I actually tally up all the hours it takes me to finish these the actual cost for commitment ...
