👍🏻🌱💚🙆♀️🙆♂️😉 . . . . . . . . . . . . #mihuertoecologicourbano#huerto ...
I removed some old non-fruiting raspberry canes from one bed and weeded the other. Fed both with chicken manure pellets and fish blood & bone. Thinking I could put some corn in the right bed? #allotment#ladygardener
All ready for the coming season! Well, the garden may be, but I’m not- I have neither drawn a plan nor ordered seeds. I am a habitual procrastinator when it comes to garden planning because I find it hard to narrow down the endless possibilities of what could be grown. Besides, I’ve been very busy going through my book one last time and double checking everything to make absolutely sure you’ll get and amazing book when you buy it! If you’d like to preorder EDIBLE PARADISE, there’s a link in my profile 😉
My little helper - Mia also known as moo moo! My little allotment buddy, Shes excited to grow "beautiful flowers, broccoli and bannanas" 🍌 Not too sure if we can do the bananas but we can deffianly sort out the others! Im hoping she will eat alot more fruit and vegetables when we have grown them, But being 4 then i think she will have her mind made up, It seems any food that isn't yellow... isn't meant to be on her plate! But im determined to get some green stuff in her, Hopefully allotment life will help 💚 #ukallotment ...
Managed to salvage some of my Pea Meteors but most of my Sweet Peas (bar 2) havent made it 🌱 On the bright side I knew they were very leggy and I had every intention of resowing these again this weekend 🌷🌷 . . . #joyyfulgardener#gardening
It's all about compost and woodchip today....both are free and more when we need it! Lotty and garden will be happy! Will put compost everywhere...and mulch rasberries and fruit bushes. Better arrange to collect more tomorrow! #compost#woodchips
SWIPE FOR BEFORE ➡️➡️➡️ I’m so proud of myself today! 🙈 not only because I cleared the large pile of rubbish from my plot, but also because I made a milestone and did something I’d really been dreading. The tip run 😣 I passed my driving test a few months ago after a genuinely long struggle. Even though I’ve passed I still stick to the same roads I know and get quite anxious as the thought of driving somewhere unknown 😥🤯 it also didn’t help I’d never been to a tip and had no clue what to even do. But ...
Probably a case of "don't try this at home kids" but I can never resist trying to prize the seed husks from the leaves. Not successful in this case, man those husks have a tight grip! Might have to take a tweezer to them 😁 Anyone else find it hard to resist the urge? . 📷Peppers Sweet Romano . . . #allotment#allotmentlife
The Glass Gem popcorn was fun last year but, being a flint corn, it wasn’t particularly tasty and most ended up being used for decoration. This summer I’ve decided to make better use of the space and plan to grow the more traditional sweetcorn instead. Any recommendations for best varieties? . . #growyourownfood#gyo
February is a very exciting time for us gardeners. Snowdrops are everywhere, forgotten bulbs are popping up, potatoes chitting in egg boxes, catkins blowing in the breeze and blossom appearing like dainty jewels. Spring is just around the corner and I can't wait to start organising the plot for the fourth season! X #blossom#spring
Flowers through glass. So many things I want to achieve. So many things I want to tidy up! So much I want to change in my own life. Never enough time to do it. Never finish the To Do list. BUT this is a trap and a miserable way to live, I know! I am constantly drawn away from the moment right here, right now. Will I ever learn that lesson? . . . #allotment#allotmentlove
Kingdom:Plantae Clade:Angiosperms Clade:Eudicots Clade:Asterids Order:Lamiales Family:Verbenaceae Genus:Lantana Species:L. camara Lantana camara is a shrub containing toxic triterpenes which cause hepatic degeneration in cattle, producing signs of photosensitization, jaundice, rumen stasis, and depression. Lantana camara and several related species (L. indica, L. crenulato, L. trifolia, L. lilacina, L. involuerata, and L. sellowiance) are toxic ornamental shrubs. They are originally from tropical America, but have spread through many of the tropical and subtropical locations of the world. Its weedy nature and subsequent potential to poison livestock are exacerbated by its highly allelopathic nature that reduces alternative forage. Surprised and delighted to see the dahlia seedlings come to life already! 😃 I sowed these at the weekend and they’ve been in a heated propagator. Dahlias are pretty easy to grow from seed and these are ‘Bishop’s Children’ - they came free with @gardenersworldmag this month! #dahlias#propagation
So just went down to the allotment in my lunch break to get some fresh air. Glad I did, since the weekend quite a few of my onion sets have been pulled out. They have now been covered in netting, so that will keep the pesky birds and other critters away 😎🤞🏽 • • • • • #allotments#allotmentuk
The allotment version of cribs when they look in the fridge "here's inside my polytunnel!" A bloody mess at the moment. Going to put a cover down on the floor and have raised bed down one side i think! #raisedbeds#nodiggarden
Apricot flowers are here 🌸💚. The cuttings of red cabbage I’ve took last summer survived the winter 💜 . Most of potatoes left to chit at the allotment haven’t survived , this one did so far . Come Spring come 😊! #allotment , #apricotflower , .
Tonight’s amazing harvest, paired with a beautiful bouquet made up of all the flowers in our garden, specially put together by my 9yo 💐💞 The biggest one of our Golden Nugget pumpkins was ready, weighing in at 830g, which I believe is quite big for this variety?! My daughter was thrilled to finally get to cut it off the vine! 🎃 . . #garden#homegarden
Cosmos goals💖🌸 Did you know the word Cosmos in Greek means orderly, beautiful, and ornamental. No surprise there! The flower's fragrance and vibrant colours give it the attributes of peacefulness, wholeness, and modesty. Blooming throughout the summer months, they attract birds, bees, and butterflies to your garden or allotment. Growing easily from seeds, cosmos even survive in poor soil conditions and make great cut flowers! What’s not to love! I sowed some cosmos seeds 3 days ago and they have already started to germinate🙀 Super duper 💪 Image: Yen Hung Lin . . . #cosmos#flowers ...
I've sown these little tomatoes last Wednesday, but as it seems nearly all of them sprouted. 🌱 2019 is going to be the year of the tomato, because I've got now like 80 little plants.... 🙈🙈🙈 and they already touch the roof of their home.. #tomato#tomatoes
Min kolonilott visar just nu på ett väldigt pedagogiskt sätt hur det upphöjda värmas upp snabbare på våren...vare sig det är byggda bäddar eller hugel(aktiga)kultur 🇬🇧My allotment is currently demonstrating the principle that raised beds of every sort warm up quicker in the spring. And with any luck the ground by the gate will defrost soon so I can actually get in there properly...🤨
Helping mummy in the garden 🌿 whoopsie, my brassicas are looking rather ropey 🥦😬 I started my allotment at the end of my pregnancy (with so many good intentions) and to say that I’ve let it go to “pot” is an understatement 😂 Little ones change our priorities, but this summer I can’t wait to get back out in the garden and planting some veggies with my baba (who looks thrilled to be spending time in the garden may I add) once it’s a touch warmer 🥕🥬🥒🍅 #greenthumb
