Update on Goose from Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary at Kruger National Park (KNP). We are very happy to report that the injured black rhino female, Goose, is doing very well. It was a massive team effort today in treating Goose’s foot wound; Petronel Nieuwoudt and the team from Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary, Kathy Dreyer, Goose’s caretaker from the KNP, Dr. Louis van Schalkwyk, Veterinarian from KNP, as well as Dr. Johan Marais from Saving The Survivors, all played a critical part in today’s procedure. We are so proud to be able to work together with such amazing specialists ...
Impressed by Al Ain zoo's efforts to its #wildlifeconservation and for strategising ways to build new homes for endangered african species. Living in the city gets me accustomed to the loads of heritage tourism promotions but yesterday's discovery proved me wrong 🤗 + Having #jebelhafeet as your backdrop, the experience was just extra-spectacular. These kind of adventures not only leave me tons of unpublished photos in my phone, but adds on to my reading list too - Modern zoos and sustainability! 🤣

Do not try at home 🦏 - “Please note that I have been lucky enough to film this rhino for quite a few years and because of that have built up a level of TRUST. DO NOT try and do this with a truly 'WILD' rhino as it may end up with you being dead! FYI - I did not approach this animal, it was completely her decision to let me come into her personal space and touch her.”

Finally watched the first episode of David Attenborough’s new BBC series ‘Dynasties’. It’s an absolutely brilliant and intimate wildlife documentary with filmmaking that doesn’t hide the rawness of nature. ❤️ This cub is part of its own dynasty - a pride of 11 lions - and is enjoying part of the wildebeest they had hunted a few hours before.... one of the grittier photographs I took during my trip to Savuti, Botswana

| | Sibling Rivalry | | No matter the species, there will always tend to be similarities in behavior, we as humans can relate to. Like these naughty little kids, wrestling for the best position in front of the tv. “Anthropomorphism” is frowned upon in our industry, by giving animals human qualities or characteristics, but this scene was way to good to not fall into the trap! “A View from Below” - Tswalu Kalahari. #mikesutherlandphoto#aviewfrombelow

The beginning of a story told before... ... it’s about the old, one-tusked elephant cow at the tree trunk. Here she comes out of the Tarangire River valley to look after her family group. And it was the same late afternoon on the way back to the camp, were we found this old elephant cow. The fascinating thing about her was, she had only one tusk left. You could speculate, how she lost the other one. But we noticed that she was easily braking down small trees of fresh green leaves. After a while, when she finished her job, she ...
