~ Midday walk in the fjells of Kilpisjärvi. At this time of the year the sun is visible this far north only for five to six hours. Even though we lacked the daylight, the light during those six hours was breathtaking. After the sunrise ends the sunset starts. Painting the most gorgeous colors to the sky.
~ Normally I don’t photograph birds at all. I mostly focus only on mammals. But owls are an exception. Especially Great Grey owls. Once or twice I have had a chance to photograph them briefly while they are busy hunting mice. Here’s few shots from last year’s session in the Eastern Finland.
~ This halo phenomenon is called “Sun Dog” it appeared today over the cabin in the Lapland while we were exploring the winter wonderland. Sun dog is formed when the sun reflects from the ice crystals in the air. -30° Celsius made the shooting definitely fresh but so worth it.
