Have you spotted the Vanishing Lake on the #causewaycoast ? It's one of the things we love to look out for when we are out and about exploring - some days it's full, some days completely dry - it's a mystery! 🏞 : : #onehouroutside

Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea... We had such fun exploring the sand dunes at Murlough Bay yesterday and strolling along the beach which is overlooked by our beautiful Mourne Mountains. A perfect location to revive the senses, let off some post-exam steam and be close to nature. It's such a gorgeous spot and the many trails through the sand dunes are perfect for a game of hide n' seek! : : #onehouroutside#outdoorkids
THE CALM AFTER THE STORM...Following yesterday's torrential rain we were glad to get outdoors today for some fresh air. Our middle son sat his first transfer test paper so we were in need of some family fun afterwards, so we headed to @ntmurlough for a walk, bbq and hot choc! Yum! : : #mountains#outdoorbloggers

Anxiety...something so many people in our modern times seem to live with sadly. I have felt it lurking this week, trying to sniff out my weak points. Maybe it's the shorter, duller days. Maybe it's the pressures in everyday life, or the expectations we put on ourselves. Maybe it's a combination of a whole host of things. Whatever the cause, it's very real and can be a very dark and lonely place. When it comes to coping mechanisms for fending off the dementors my weapons of choice are movement and time in nature. A good brisk walk, allowing my heart ...
We all need a little helping hand from time to time... : I hope my heart is forever open to learning. This boy of mine, our wild-at-heart fiery redhead (can't think where he gets it from!) is full-on in love with life. He loves nothing more than being on the mountains, getting dirty, pushing his limits and being the leader of our trekking pack. In the Mournes on Sunday he asked me to 'climb' with him. I hesitated, not at all good with heights or slippery surfaces. I admit I was a little scared, for me and for him. But, ...

Two Mourne Mountain summits for us today, Meelmore and Meelbeg. We are completely shattered now but it's so worth it for views like this! This is why we hike with our kids...for these views, the space and freedom and to fill our hearts. : : #magicalmournes#getoutside
